For years I have worked with and around Gold, see and read about it in my book and listen to the gramophone record Mi fenna Gowtu.
I have immersed paintings like this in a bath of pure gold. So both the front and back are gilded like this. This work was created when the price of Gold was half lower, imagine your art collection burns everything is gone, except under this painting you will find a nugget of gold.
